Ace to 5 Lowball

The most played form of lowball poker is known Ace to 5 Lowball triple draw.

Similar to 5 card draw, the main difference in Ace to 5 Lowball being that players try to make the best possible low hand that they can. There are also three draws instead of one. Straights and flushes do not count in this game, the best possible hand is A-2-3-4-5 regardless of the suit.

Prior to the cards being dealt, the two players left of the dealer button must pay small blind and big blind, respectively. Once all players receive their cards, the first of 4 betting rounds starts. Players have 3 options: fold their hand, call or raise.

After all the players have chosen their option, players have to choice to discard up to 5 cards, and are dealt the same number of new cards. Alternatively, they also have the choice to keep the cards in their hand.

After this, there is a second round of betting, where players once again can check, raise or fold. After this, players are given another chance to draw. This is then followed by a third round of betting, and then the third and final draw.

After the final draw, is then a final betting round which is in turn followed by the showdown. The pot is won by whichever player has the lowest hand.
