How do I start playing at community Poker Tables (Ring Games)?
Once you are in the Poker Room, enter the Lobby and select “Poker Tables”, and then choose “Texas Hold’em” or “Omaha” Poker from the tabs. Under each game tab you are able to view all available tables, as well as specific stakes (Limit, No Limit or Pot Limit). If you wish to join a table, click on any of the open seats as indicate by a chair icon:
After that, you will be prompted to enter whatever amount it is that you would like to take to the table from your wallet.
If there is a specific table you want to play but it is full, you are able to go on a waiting list by clicking on the ‘waiting list’ button. Your name will then be added to the bottom of this list. As seats become available , your name will move up the list. Once it reaches the top of the list, if a seat becomes available, Poker Room will notify you as such, and you will then be allowed to join.
At iHoldem, you can play at up to 4 poker tables at the same time, as well as any tournaments and blackjack tables. These different tables are easily accessible from tabs across the top of the interface.
What are Sit N Go Tournaments?
A Sit N Go Tournament is a single table tournament that simply requires an entry fee and a buy-in fee. The buy-ins from all the players creates the prize pool. All players who choose to buy-in are given an equal amount of chips, and like an ordinary tournament, are eliminated once all the chips are lost. Whoever is the last player left with chips is the winner.
iHoldem’s Poker Room offers a very large variety of Texas Hold’em and Omaha Sit N Go Tournament rooms. Players also have the ability to create custom Sit N Go Tournaments.
Tables created by players are known as Custom Tables. Table creators have the choice of making Custom Tables open to all players, or the creator can password protect the table so that only people invited by the creator can play.
In order to create a Custom Table:
Click on the Custom game tab, and then click on create in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. A small window will then open where you need to fill in the following information:
Name:
Stakes:
Maximum number of players:
Password (Only do this if you want a closed game, where any players who wish to join must know the password.)
Click ‘OK’
How long do I have for my turn?
Each player is given 15 seconds for their turn. If the player does not make their move within that time and the timer bar runs out, the player’s hand will be automatically folded, and their status changed to “sitting out”.
Should you want to get more money to a table without leaving it, you have the option of clicking the “re-buy” button. This will allow you to re-buy however much you would like to, or up to whatever the table limit is. For limit games you cannot re-buy an amount that will put your total on the table over the table limit. You are only able to re-buy when you are sitting out, between hands or folded. You are not able to re-buy during a hand that you are still in the middle of playing in.
Can I keep my seat at a table but not play any hands? (Sit Out)
You can tick the “sit out” box and you will keep your seat at the table, but will not be included in the play until you choose to “sit in”. However, you are only able to “sit out” at a table for 10 minutes before you are removed from it.
I was changed to Sitting Out when I didn’t choose to?
If your status has changed to “sitting out” and you did not choose to “sit out”, then either you did not make your turn before the time bar ran out, or you were disconnected. If you are unable to make your turn in time, then you will be folded and sat out.
If you have been disconnected from a game, your status will be changed to “all in dp”. This means that you will not bet any more money or have any more turns, but you will still be eligible to win the pot up until the point that you disconnected. If you have not reconnected before the start of the next hand, your status will simply be changed to “sitting out”.
Am I Able to Auto Post Blinds?
No matter what, all players must post small blinds and big blinds. If a player has “auto post” selected, then their blinds will automatically be paid out of their stack when it is their turn to post the blinds. If “auto post” is not selected, then the player will have to click the “post sb” or “post bb” button every time it comes up. Selecting “auto post” can also speed up the game play.
“Auto post” is turned off by default and can be turned on/off in the “options” panel.
What does IB (Initial Blind) and Wait for BB (Big Blind) mean?
Should a player not have “auto post” selected when they join or sit-in at a table then they can choose to “Post IB (Initial Blind)” or “Wait for BB (Big Blind)”. If they choose the option “Wait for BB”, then they will not post any “initial blinds” (ib) or “return blinds” (rb). Instead, they will wait until it is their turn to post the “big blind” before being dealt into the game. If they select the “Post IB” option, then they will be dealt straight into the game and post an initial blind.
By default “wait for BB” is not selected, and can be turned on/off in the “options” panel. However, it can only be turned on if “auto post” is not selected.
What does Show, Muck and Auto Muck mean?
Should a player lose a showdown, they have the option to “muck” their cards. This means that they lost, but have yet to show their hands, they will have the choice whether or not they want other players to see their cards. A player can only muck their cards if their turn comes after a winning hand is shown in the showdown. You also have the choice to “show” your cards even if you have lost.
If a player has selected the “auto muck” option, then when they lose a showdown their cards will automatically be mucked if possible. “Auto muck” is turned off by default, and can be turned on/off in the “options” panel.
Should a player win a pot before all the community cards have been dealt, they have the option to “rabbit”, or use the rabbit hunt feature. To “rabbit” means to have the dealer deal the remaining community cards, to see they would have been if the players decided to play on. If a player chooses to “rabbit”, they must also show the rest of the players their cards.
Note: You are only able to “rabbit” if you do not have “auto muck” selected.
When it is not your turn, you will be given the option of pre-selecting actions. If you pre-select an certain action, then when it is your turn it will automatically do that action. The pre-select action box will appear right above the hand description box, but will only be visible when it is not your turn showing your available actions.
Can I my view Game Stats and Hand History?
If you click on the “stats” panel, you are able to see a number of important statistics, such as the hands you have been dealt, how many hands you have won, as well as how long you have been playing. By clicking the “more” button you are able to see further details on Fold Stats, Action Stats and Win Stats.
In order to view your Hand History during a game, click on the “history” button, located right below the table. If you want to see your hand histories for all the games, select “player admin”, select “hand history”, and then choose a date, and the hands from that day’s games will be shown on the screen.
Located in the center of the table is the pot (under any community cards). The value of the pot is shown in brackets, in addition to any money that is placed on the table during a betting round.
The way we rake our games is displayed on our rake chart. When playing, if a small amount of the pot is moved to the left of the board cards, then that means a rake has been taken. You will only be counted in a raked hand if you have contributed in some way to the pot (either through a bet or a blind). Sit N Go Tournaments will also count towards rake. Every $1 spent on tournament entry fees = 1 raked hand (note – rake is counted on the entry fee, not the buy in).
Can I keep notes on other players?
Absolutely! Click on another player and a window will appear where you are able to type notes. Once you have added these notes, make sure you click “save notes” before closing. Once you have added a few notes on someone, those notes will appear again whenever you move your move over that player as a tooltip. Any players who have entered their location details with the cashier will also have their country show up as a tooltip.

See Blackjack Rules for more information.
Hit – You are dealt another card.
Stand – Stop with the current cards and take no more.
Double (Doubling Down) – You can only double down when you have two cards whose combined value adds up to be between 9 and 11. Doubling down allows you to double your bet, but if you do so, you can only hit for one another card.
Split (Splitting Pairs) – If you a dealt two card that have the same value (for example, 7 and 7, or Jack and King), then you can split them into two separate hands, and play them independently. You are allowed to split pairs twice during a game, except for resplitting on Aces that have already been split. If you do split, then you must also place your initial bet along with the new hand, and must have enough money to do so.
Insurance – If the dealer’s up card is an Ace, you will be offered the “Insurance” option, and can bet up to half your original bet. The dealer will check to see if their second card has a value of 10, and if they do, then your winning Insurance bet will be paid at odds of 2:1. Insurance is a side bet that has no influence on the original bet. So if the dealer does have a Blackjack, then you will win the Insurance bet but unless you also have Blackjack you will lose your original bet. It is a good way of hedging your bets.
In your blackjack preferences, you can use Auto Play and let the computer play for you. First you must place your initial bet, which will be the bet amount that is used for each hand in autoplay. You then click on the “autoplay” button. Select the “number of deals” for the autoplay to do, and when it should stop (for example if you win or lose a certain amount of money).

Fig2
The rule the strategy grid then uses is decided by the dealer’s first card. For example, if the dealer is dealer is dealt an 8, you will see on the grid that the autoplay function will HIT. Have a look at the yellow box shown below (Fig 3).

Fig3
Please note that a 10, Jack, Queen and King are valued as a 10.
On the left hand column, you will see a section from Soft 20 to Soft 13. A SOFT hand is a hand that contains an Ace in it that at the time can be counted as a 1 or an 11. For example:
| Hand | Value | Soft |
|---|---|---|
| Ace, 7 | 18 or 8 | Yes |
| Ace, 7, 10 | 18 | No |
| Ace, 5, 2 | 18 or 8 | Yes |
| Ace, 4, 9 | 14 | No |
| Ace, Ace, 7 | 19 or 9 | Yes |
| Ace, Ace, 9, 9 | 20 | No |
Once again, the up card of the dealer is used to make the decision as shown above in Fig 3.
The final section on the left hand column (pairs), are used when the first two cards you are dealt have the same value (Remember that 10, J, Q, and K are all the same value).
Changing the Default Strategy Rules

fig4

The actions you can take change for all the different sections.
On any grid decision, you are able to HIT or STAND. You are only able to DOUBLE, SURRENDER and SPLIT when you have two cards. If you have any more than two cards, you can no longer use these options.
When you select DOUBLE, SURRENDER, OR SPLIT, you will see that the menu will become restricted. You can then choose an option, under ELSE, for hands that have more than 2 cards.
You can make many different decisions using the options supplied to you in the menu. After you have changed one or more options, click save. I am Australian. How come I cannot play for Real Money?
Unfortunately it is against the law for Australians to use Real Money on our website.
Online Gambling
Under the /Interactive Gambling Act 2001/ (IGA), Parliament established a regulatory system which makes it an offence to provide certain interactive gambling services to a customer physically present in Australia. The prohibited interactive gambling content under the IGA includes services that are often described as ‘online casinos’ and usually involve using the Internet to play games of chance, or games of mixed chance and skill. Examples include roulette, poker, craps, online ‘pokies’ and blackjack.

If you are disconnected during a game, the software will try to connect you again and put you straight back into the game. If you have reconnected before your hand has timed out, then you can continue playing. However, if your hand does time out before you are able to reconnect you will automatically be folded. More details can be found in our Disconnection Policy.
I am having Game Speed and/or Connection Issues
To resolve this matter please try implementing the following measures to allow your computer and connection to cope better;
If you still find that you are experiencing poor performance then;
If you still find that Poker Room is running slowly, try to close any other programs running in the background. This includes some virus scanning software, instant messages, or active downloads.
iHoldem recommends that you remove all adware and spyware from your computer prior to playing in Poker Room. Even with the fastest computers, this can slow down your internet speed. Microsoft provides a good place to start here.
If nothing that has been suggested helps, try and contact your ISP’s (Internet Service Provider) tech support department. It is possible they are having issues in your area.
